"Donald Trump has no business leading this country. However, his minions in their Donald Trump costumes, the Republican leaders who have sold their party for the service of Trump above America, the lying FOX media and its little baby fox wannabes, have sold this country down the toilet for a genuine criminal." - NY Times comment

"This was a really ugly day. Pretty soon January 6 thugs are going to be sprung and roaming the streets. Are the court records of these traitors available as Public Information? If so, we need to know where they will be published for all to know where the traitors are and where they go..". - - Washington Post comment
"Do you all remember the horror & fear we felt on Jan 6? Fear for our country, our Capital, & our Congress who had to hide under desks, in basements, & locked offices? And all because a certain lizard-eyed madman convinced his followers to "fight like h_11"! Now, not even 1/2 a day in office, he's pardoning all of them. Is there not one decent Repugnican who will stand up & say " This is WRONG! This is not the rule of law! This is not the America I represent!"- Washington Post comment
“Trump’s mass pardon effectively makes a mockery of a justice
system that has labored for four years to charge nearly 1,600 people who tried to stop the Constitution
in its tracks, a system that convicted 1,100 of them and that sentenced more
than 600 of them to prison.
Most important, the mass pardon sends a message to the country
and the world that violating the law in support of Mr. Trump and his movement
will be rewarded.” - NY Times Editorial
today (‘Trump’s Opening Act Of Contempt’)
In one of his last acts as President, and just hours before Felon
Trump’s inauguration, Joe Biden issued preemptive pardons Monday to his
siblings and their spouses, saying he feared they would be targeted for
political reasons by the new administration. Biden also preemptively pardoned
retired Gen. Mark A. Milley, who has been highly critical of Trump; Anthony S.
Fauci, who spearheaded the country’s pandemic response; members of the House
committee that investigated the Jan.
6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol; and police officers who testified
before the committee.
In a lengthy statement, Biden said he was issuing the pardons
not because of any wrongdoing by those individuals but to protect them from
potential political prosecution.
The pardons, while controversial, were absolutely justified, especially when Trump erupted not long after (on his social media loser) yelping about it being “disgraceful to allow major crimes to go unpunished.” Soon thereafter, he ordered his attorney general to make sure that those who are “currently held in prison are released immediately” and also to dismiss all pending indictments. And so, like Hitler with his Sturm Abteilung, basically defecated on the rule of law in this country while sending hundreds of thugs free to commit more violence - in his name. As David French wrote in his recent NY Times piece ('Donald Trump Is Running Riot'):
“while numerous presidents have issued embarrassing, abusive and potentially corrupt pardons, Trump pardoned people who committed acts of political violence on his behalf. He pardoned the seditious shock troops of an attempted coup.
Vance stood by that idea in 2024, and now — in 2025 — Trump has fundamentally rebuked the American justice system by ordering the pardon and release of more than 1,500 people lawfully charged for their role in arguably the most dangerous insurrectionary act since the Civil War.”
So no, what was disgraceful and a blot on
American history was not Joe Biden's prescient pre-emptive pardons but the felon Turd's pardoning 1500 January 6th
insurrectionists, who barely 4 years earlier had attacked the Capitol, pummeled
and sprayed Capitol police while rampaging through the halls of congress, defecating and
searching for lawmakers to kill. Oh yeah, and Mike Pence to hang.
Breaking this atrocity down, Trump unconditionally pardoned 608 in the mob charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement or obstructing during civil disorder. That included 174 defendants charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon and causing serious bodily injury to officers. As former DOJ prosecutor Andrew Weismann noted, all were given due process, cases heard before a jury of their peers. There was no unhinged political or judicial "weaponization" as Trump claims. Indeed, the judges hearing the cases hailed from both parties including those appointed by Trump himself. All of them viewed the crowd's actions as a serious assault on democracy and said so in pointed language.
That this toxic orange pestilence - given renewed power by the dummies he conned in swing states- would commit such barbarity was almost pre-ordained. That is, at least for those higher IQ voters who took the traitor's campaign vows for retribution seriously. And who recognized this POS poseur for who and what he is: the instigator who launched the violent January 6, 2021 insurrection. For those whose memories need jogging- the video embedded in the WaPo piece below- captures what Trump did then, sending his thugs to mount an insurrection,
And then - 3 years later - found to be a 34 times convicted felon on top of being a traitor. This is what dimwit voters - more concerned with the price of their eggs - have wrought and besmirched this nation, inverted its laws as they enabled this criminal and liar to seize power again. Like Adolf Hitler in 1932-33, using the existing infrastructure of democracy to do so.
Former SDNY prosecutor Preet Bharara, last night on Jen Psaki, bluntly assessed Trump's pardon of these felons as "Orwellian". Recall that Newspeak defined Orwell's 1984, inverting every normal meaning, i.e. lawless is lawful, freedom is slavery, war is peace, etc. That's basically what Trump did with his abominations, immunizing the felons against any other crimes - so long as they are crimes he allows. Say like attacking his critics, news reporters, state prosecutors, DOJ people involved in his prosecutions.
Think I'm exaggerating? On the pro-Trump website Patriots.Win at least two dozen (according to the Dallas Morning News) "expressed hopes for the executions of Democrats, judges or law enforcement linked to the January 6th case. They also called for jurors and police to be hanged, pummeled to death, ground up in wood chippers or thrown from helicopters. Others called for heads to be cut off and put on pikes outside the Justice Department."
These are the vermin slime the orange traitor - who ought to have been hanged already - set free to sow chaos, violence and fear like Hitler's S.A. in the early 1930s.
As Yale Professor Timothy Snyder noted last night (on Rachel Maddow) the 1500 pardons, including for the violent extremist 'Proud Boys', essentially serves to recruit them as an unofficial 'police force' to do his bidding. In Prof. Snyder’s words:
“The problem with these
pardons is that those pardoned have now been instructed the law doesn’t apply
to them but it applies to everyone else.
In our system the police are allowed to sometimes use force, use violence because we are governed by law. When you take another group that’s not part of the state – and now not governed by law- and say this group can now also use violence, then you’ve changed the nature of the political regime you’re living under.
Yes, there’s still the police but now there are also these
others (e.g. Proud Boys) who are not the
police who can use violence but are not governed by law. The history of this
shows when such groups are created they may get powers that expand. In this
case they’ll likely be used first to oversee migrant detention camps then get more ambitious assignments,
perhaps even being deputized to assist in deportations.”
Rachel Maddow adding, "this is Authoritarianism 101." Those pardoned, then, like Mugabe did in Zimbabwe, Erdogan in Turkey, and Duterte in the Philippines - not to mention Viktor Orban in Hungary - basically emerge as an unofficial cadre of thugs operating outside the law. It turns our justice system on its head which was the purpose of the pardons, along with an attempt to rewrite history.
As Sen. Adam Schiff noted last night this act of mass pardoning of insurrectionist criminals by Trump was "blasphemous" and proves he is trying to rewrite history. It will not work because those of us who attend to history and follow it know damned well what happened, e.g.
Brane Space: Remembering That Day Of Infamy Four Years Ago
And will not allow a grifter felon and proven traitor to gaslight us into surrender. Or intimidate us into silence and cooption. The traitor scum proclaimed - after his "oath" of office (in which he carefully avoided putting his hand on the Bible) e.g.
That he and his minions will introduce a new "Golden Age". Don't believe it! Concentrated lies, corruption and abuse of power has only - in the past- led to a Dark Age.
As for Dotard’s blizzard of bogus executive orders, they are
clearly part of an “executive-order shock-and-awe campaign,” in the words of
Matthew Dallek, a political historian at George Washington University. Most are
bogus and lack any legal basis, e.g. eliminating birthright citizenship, and
ought to be fought tooth and claw in the courts – never mind the MAGGats shifting political
pressure to opponents who challenge them.
As for Dotard’s claim he was "saved by God" to lead at this moment. Don't make me laugh. He was saved by a lucky turn of his head at the last second, a fortuitous escape following which he's not displayed the least semblance of grace or humility. And as Financial Times columnist Edward Luce pointed out in his column ('America is staring into an Abyss’) the day after the attempted assassination:
"No honest accounting of America’s fetid climate can ignore the fact that the former president himself is the country’s most influential exponent of political violence. "
This orange fecal fungus, make no mistake, will turn this nation into a shithole if we let him. Adhere to God and the Constitution? Trump adheres only to himself!

Trump's Hitlerian Month - by Timothy Snyder
Excerpt:
This year we have seen that explicit Nazi ideas are tolerated in the Trump milieu. The vice-presidential candidate shares a platform with Holocaust deniers, and defends Holocaust denial as free speech. This is a fallacy people should see through: yes, the First Amendment allows Nazis to speak, but it does not ennoble Nazi speech. The fact that people say fascist things in a country with freedom of speech is how we know that they are fascists -- and that, if they themselves comes to power, they will end freedom of speech and all other freedoms.

If it launched with a Nazi salute … where do you think it ends?
On Monday, January 20th in the Capitol Rotunda, tech billionaire Elon Musk threw what appeared to be a Nazi saluteduring the inauguration of Donald Trump as US president. In case we missed it (or misinterpreted it), he made the emphatic gesture again.
The lame explanations offered for it must be roundly rejected. It doesn’t matter if Musk genuinely intended that gesture to have another meaning. Neo-Nazis were swift to celebrate it. And there’s no one on the planet who doesn’t know its symbolism.
