Felon President Capt. Bonespurs Trump wrote another pile of ripe horse shit (to again distract from the Epstein files)on his Untruth Social, yesterday morning. This time demanding release of former Mesa County, Colorado clerk Tina Peters. Barking:
“FREE TINA PETERS, a brave and innocent Patriot who has been tortured by Crooked Colorado politicians! ...Let Tina Peters out of jail, RIGHT NOW. She did nothing wrong, except catching the Democrats cheat in the Election. She is an old woman, and very sick. If she is not released, I am going to take harsh measures!!!"
What 'harsh measures', you sad sack of shit? Peters got exactly what she deserved - like your January 6th traitor pals. Of course, the orange traitor slime also pardoned over a thousand fellow traitors involved in the January 6, 2021 insurrection which he himself incited. But see he has no similar power to do the same for Peters here in Colorado- no matter how much he blusters. The reason is that Peters was convicted in a state court, so he has no clemency power in her case.
For those whose memories are short, or who don't live here in Colorado, Peters gained notoriety in 2021 by getting an accomplice to help secretly copy Dominion Voting Systems hard drives in secure areas of her office using someone else’s security badge. Within months, data from her office appeared online in a bogus "symposium" held by the 'My Pillow' traitor, Lindell. All to shore up the cockamamie twaddle that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump.
No surprise then that Peters has been embraced and championed by many of those MAGA dolts who continue to falsely claim that the 2020 presidential election was rigged. But Peters is one of the few officials to face consequences for using their positions in local elections offices to try to promote false claims about the 2020 election. And in her case, doing so by going to the lengths of violating election security in her damned office, compromising the Dominion voting machines.
This was in total violation of state election laws, designed to protect the integrity of voting machine and voters' rights. So the hag deserved what she got and prosecutors charged Peters in 2022. There was no "torture" and Peters received a convicted felon's just desserts - which the sentencing judge summed up thusly as fully warranted:
“You are no hero, you abused your position, and you’re a charlatan who used and is still using your prior position in office to peddle a snake oil that’s been proven to be a snake oil time and time again,”
The same abuse of position (as president) could be said of Rump after spreading endless lies about mail ballots and "illegal" voting after the Nov. 2020 general election. Capped off by his fomenting of the Jan. 6 insurrection- which ought to have disqualified this orange turd to ever run again under the 14th amendment. But which a corrupted Supreme Court let go, then in a later ruling bestowed him immunity for virtually all misdeeds.
Still, his fate was in the voters' hands and given an ounce of gray matter they could have done what the 6 Supremes he installed didn't - by voting for Kamala. Instead, sheer gullibility owing to significant lack of gray matter disclosed millions of dumbasses. Bumble heads expecting relief from inflation, free access to IVF, lower housing costs - putting this consummate liar (and by then convicted felon) back in power - to wreck what's left of our democracy.
Making one ask: When is this putz ass of a pretend president going to start doing some real work on behalf of the country, instead of firing off endless BS on his suckass UnTruth Social platform - or scribbling bogus executive orders, i.e.
Perhaps Hard To Believe: But Why Most Of Trump's Executive Orders Are Bogus As In Unconstitutional
When can we expect an end to his ceaseless interventions in citizens' lives and continual interference in our every waking moment? Probably not until and unless he's either removed under the 25th amendment, or impeached again - if the Dems retake the House. Oh yeah, and the Senate for once recognizes this criminal imp for who and what he is. An authoritarian wannabe in the mold of Viktor Orban, and a damned traitor to the Constitution and rule of law.

Opinion | One Sentence in the Constitution Is Causing America Huge Problems - The New York Times
Excerpt:
On Nov. 8, 1787, a pamphleteer who wrote under the pseudonym
Cato published one of the most
prescient warnings in American history.
Cato looked at the proposed Constitution and declared that
it might well turn into a vehicle for tyranny.
He didn’t see a Constitution of enumerated rights that
sharply limited the power of the president. Instead, he saw a Constitution that
granted the president such sweeping authority “that if the president is
possessed of ambition, he has power and time sufficient to ruin his country.”
In other words, he could see a man like Donald Trump coming, and Cato knew the Constitution could not prevent his rise.
We can — at long last — heed the warnings of the
antifederalists by changing the first
sentence of Article II. Instead of declaring, “The executive power shall be
vested in a president of the United States of America,” it should read, “A
president of the United States of America shall execute laws passed by
Congress.”
This simple change would have sweeping implications. It
would remove the president as the chief executive of the nation and turn him or
her into a steward of the laws passed through the democratic process.

Jena Griswold fires back after Trump calls for Tina Peters' release
Excerpt:
President Donald Trump again called for the release of
former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters from prison on Thursday, issuing a vague
threat of “harsh measures” if state officials don’t let her out.
Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold quickly fired
back, calling both Peters and the president “election-denying criminals who put
their need for power ahead of the American people.”
“Trump is trying to power grab,” Griswold, a Democrat, said
in an interview with The Denver Post. “He is trying to rewrite the 2020
election.”n
Peters, a Republican, is serving
nine years behind bars after a jury
convicted her last summer of breaching her county’s election computer
system in an attempt to buttress the president’s and his supporters’ false
claims that the Democrats stole the 2020 election, which was won by Joe Biden,
from Trump.
Griswold, in a interview, said she had no idea what Trump
meant with his threat, saying it could just be “bluster” from the president.
But she said because Peters was convicted in state court, there’s nothing Trump
can do to unwind the jury’s decision.
“Trump has absolutely no authority to issue a pardon,”
Griswold said.

by Tom Engelhardt | August 23, 2025 - 4:55am | permalink
Sometimes I dream—in the sense of a nightmare—about bringing my parents back to this all too strange world of ours to tell them about… yes, of course, Donald J. Trump. They died long before The Apprentice even made it onto TV early in this century, so—best guess—though they also lived in New York, they undoubtedly had never heard of him.
My mother died in 1977 when Donald Trump was 31 and Jimmy Carter was president; my father in 1983 when Trump was 37 and Ronald Reagan was president. But nothing, not even Richard Nixon, could have prepared them for a Trump presidency, not once but (yes!) twice.
Mind you, my father was a salesman and, in that sense, he might have understood something about Trump, including his ability to sell himself to all too many of the rest of us so damn successfully, again not once but twice—and if he has anything to do with it, maybe (but “probably” not) a third time, too. My parents could never have imagined, however, that the country which, at my mom’s birth, had Theodore Roosevelt as president and, in the years to come, Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, among others, would have elected a madly self-referential ex-salesman with six bankrupt businesses in his past to the White House not once, but—yes, again!—twice.
