Holding up model of his Arch - to include attack drones, snipers
Hitler's 'Arch of Triumph' proposed by Albert Speer
"There is now one nuclear power in this world that has taken to the podium of the General Assembly of the United Nations and discussed totally annihilating a country. Killing every human being in that country, every baby. That one nuclear power is not North Korea. That nuclear power that discussed the annihilation of a country as a war crime was not the Soviet Union in its darkest hour. That nuclear power is not China or France or other nuclear powers that have maintained that capability.
Only the United States of America has sent a President to the United Nations who said he was thinking about committing the greatest war crime with weapons of war. So in that moment - during this Trump presidency - the United States became the most dangerous nuclear power in the world with Donald Trump as President. The only one where the person with the nuclear codes contemplates killing ninety million people."- Lawrence O'Donnell, on The Last Word.
"Trump's UN speech can best be described as a rough, threatening and ugly ramble" - Jimmy Kimmel, last night
"Trump’s UN speech is a bridge too far for any civilized
nation, let alone the United States. Presenting the destruction of an entire
country as the alternative to a negotiated settlement, before the world’s
assembled leaders, raises profound questions about the president’s judgment and
the limits of executive power.
If there were ever a moment for the members of the Trump
cabinet to seriously consider Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, this is it. The amendment
provides a mechanism for the vice president and a majority of the cabinet to
declare that a president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of the
office."- NY Times letter writer
"Trump at the UN showed he's just a messy bitch, picking fights wherever he goes because he lives for the drama. If you're worried about what Trump might do when the cameras aren't on him, don't be. Because this thirsty attention slut would never let that happen. Without the media or anyone else there to fight with Trump would have to be alone with his own thoughts...whatever those are." - Desi Lydic last night on The Daily Show
Given a madman leader threatening nuclear strikes on another nation, how difficult can it be to get him removed from office? This is not hype, nor is it vapid fear mongering or histrionics. For clue one consult The Wall Street Journal header from yesterday:
Where the Orange Demented Terror made a threat he's used before, and we already know (from prior WSJ pieces) he's had his eyes on hurling a tactical nuke or two at Pickaxe Mountain in Iran. The verbatim quote from the weekend WSJ piece in July:
"Frustrated by a war with Iran that has lasted long past his
initial promises, President Donald Trump told world leaders on Tuesday that he
would “annihilate” the entire country if its leaders do not make a deal."
And let us be crystal clear NO normal, i.e. sane leader, makes vicious threats like this to a gathering of world leaders at the U.N. As Chris Hayes described this viral fungal expulsion in an opening segment of ALL In:
"This was one of the most appalling speeches ever given at the U.N. And by an American President."
And Kyle Kulinski in his podcast spares no legitimate rage at this war criminal-
BREAKING: Trump Makes GENOCIDAL THREATS At The UN!! | The Kyle Kulinski Show
Especially when this lunatic has to know China has already warned it will intervene in Iran to protect its energy interests. Putin's Russia has said the same.
But then there is this report from Ken Klippenstein (in Substack) about the Pentagon actually considering a nuclear strike on Iran:
Trump Preparing Nuclear Strike On Iran?
Let's also be clear Trump has basically 'checked out' of managing anything to do with the Iran War in favor of focusing on his monuments, such as his Arch for which he now plans to have attack drones and snipers. (Cf. The Financial Times, 'Trump Is Checking Out Of His Presidency', by Edward Luce. Mr Luce writes:
"To say that Trump has checked out of the business of governing is an understatement. In his second year Trump's mind has increasingly been colonized by monuments to himself. For example, Trump announced on Sunday his planned triumphal arch would also be a top grade military complex. This monument to himself will stock drones, snipers and a big ammunition depot. He did not say where all this firepower would be directed, nor what his arc de Trump will commemorate."
But we do know, going back through Albert Speer's accounts at the end of WWII, one of Hitler's preoccupations was having Speer build more monuments to himself. This even as the Russians advanced on Berlin, Even before that, Hitler had his own 'Arch of Triumph' planned out by Speer. This Hitler Arch of Triumph, one of several proposed monuments to be erected in Berlin following the expected German victory, would have been 400 feet high. (Still besting Trump's arch by 150' - but don't tell our Fuhrer!)
Note how even from the early design it bears an uncanny similarity to Trump's arch. (From archival book on the Third Reich).
So the pertinent question here, is: How can any leader who's basically "checked out of managing his government - including a war HE started - seriously claim he can "annihilate" the opposing nation? As Mr. Luce goes on to write:
"Aside from ego, few can credit the depth of obsession with these kitsch monstrosities."
But my psychology professor niece Shayl does have a theory - based on frontotemporal dementia - which I will share near the end.
Luce continues:
"Richard Painter, ethics chief in George W. Bush's White House, said that Trump's arch should be dedicated to the U.S. Constitution's 25th amendment- by which a president can be removed for incapacity, including insanity."
Shayl totally agrees with this and Dr. Bandy X. Lee's take that Trump is nearing an explosive outburst, which may well be nuclear e.g.
Dr Bandy Lee WARNS of the Nuclear Threat Donald Trump Poses to Humanity.
Warning: "When reality catches up to him he will be tempted to go to the nuclear buttons."
He's already threatened such use again, and at the UN, so how much more evidence do we need? Back to Shayl's theory, as she has put it:
"Patients with this condition, which we abbreviate with the acronym FTD, lose any sense of shame and are completely ignorant of social cues. So Trump would have had no sense of the shock with which his barbaric words affected those assembled at the UN.
Shayl 's point is that Trump's unhinged behavior and bellicosity at the UN would be perfectly in line with a person suffering from frontotemporal dementia given it destroys the regions in the brain associated with executive function. The fact all of Trump's 'head space' is taken up by his monstrosities ....errr ...monuments.. discloses his executive brain functions are A.W.O.L so his lower brain stem must take over - which is dominated by brutality and total absence of decency. That's why - as Janice said - that UN speech was a disgrace and an embarrassment.
Shayl added that without mastery of his executive centers, Trump has devolved into the feral beast we behold because he lacks inhibitions. Without inhibitions "he's a slave to his basest impulses and is unable to check them."
Thus Bandy X. Lee is correct. If pushed beyond a certain threshold Trump may decide launching a nuke attack at Iran - out of frustration - is the only play left. And with no one in government to check him or control his rages, well,...it's nuclear confrontation time (with China, Russia). After all, Trump lacks the brains and restraint JFK had in the Cuban Missile crisis.
This is an important point to note, and also explains why Trump will never be satisfied no matter what happens. Iran could yield control of the Strait of Hormuz today and it wouldn't matter. Why not? Well, in Shayl's words:
"The problem is the brain system is short-circuited by the FTD. So the reward function is now detached from the belief system. Trump may get the 'reward' of the Strait opening up again, but not believe it and still mount an all out attack on Iran - just out of spite for the delay they put him through. That is how far his reasoning has degraded and with it the rewards system - which to him no longer has any use or meaning at all."
She went on to articulate further the depth to which Trump's brain has decayed:
"Our brain is designed to keep remaking itself - in a mentally healthy person - as we interact with the world. But in Trump's brain the process has halted because he not longer interacts with the world on a reality level. It is only via a fantasy twisted level which is continually reinforced by Natalie Harp's pumping him with AI slop. So it's no wonder he's ceased to act as an effective or even fully sentient - leader. He is now the threat to our existence more than AI."
Clearly, after his UN display the UN members grasp - as well as sane Americans -there is a need for an emergency 911 call. But who will deliver it?

On Tuesday, Donald Trump stood before the United Nations General Assembly to give a speech in which he made it clear that the United States has now fully abandoned its last remaining fig leaf of decency and morality on the world stage, and has embarked on an imperialist model not seen since the 19th century. Since this was a Trump speech, filled with his usual bombast and braggadocio, it didn’t have quite the shock value it might have carried in the past. But there was a new atmosphere in the room. The world sees America as a threat now, and countries are making new arrangements.
The speech was the worst he’s given, and that’s saying something. Delivered with a bored, desultory tone, the obviously tired president spent 40 minutes rambling on and on with his usual litany of grievances and lies. He made it clear that he sees no limits on his power.

I feel like I need to apologize for a column a couple of months ago when I compared the current president of the United States to Caligula, the possibly mad Roman emperor who is said to have nominated his trusted horse for high office. I need to apologize to Caligula. From pitching his triumphal D.C. arch as a storage shed for deadly snipers’ bullets to banning reporters from the White House in a narcissistic rage, Donald Trump is losing his grip on reality. This is unsustainable.
Worried about AI killing humans? Bad news: It already is.
Which is it?
Are the robots of AI, or artificial intelligence, so smart that they’re on the verge of holding a secret meetup in the darkest corner of the dark web and developing a plot to kill all humans through germ warfare, to make sure we don’t kill them first by pulling the plug?

President Donald Trump's latest outbursts are a sign of how much his worst excesses are coming to the forefront, and as two prominent insiders told MS NOW, he has created an administration around himself that leaves allies powerless to stop him.
On Tuesday, MS NOW's Nicole Wallace hosted two guests with close past connections to Trump's inner circle: author and reporter Maggie Haberman, who has written extensively about his political career and gotten close access to the president; and Miles Taylor, who worked as a major Homeland Security staffer in the first Trump administration and famously blew the whistle about the internal efforts to rein him in.
Wallace pressed the pair about Trump's recent press ban, which blocked MS NOW, CNN and Politico from accessing the White House for coverage, prompting a lawsuit and a boycott from the full press pool. In response to one particular question, Haberman stressed that even those around Trump with strong political instincts no longer have much influence over his decision-making.

In a highly aggressive 40-minute speech to the United Nations General Assembly on September 22, President Donald Trump once again issued ominous threats to Iran, saying: “I have a very big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before, maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world? Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill or destroy people or countries again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?”
He implied that his “very big decision” would come after the midterms, suggesting that Iran is waiting to make a deal until then and, if one isn’t forthcoming, then he would choose annihilation.

One of the enduring mysteries in today’s American political life is why so many Republican politicians and their friends are adopting or promoting openly Nazi symbols, iconography, and slogans.
Is it a shout-out to the hardcore racists and haters that make up the GOP’s base, all just a performance to get enough votes to win elections? Or a proclamation that the end-goal of Republican governance is the destruction of American democracy, perhaps in deference to Vladimir Putin? How about it’s being a bizarre attempt at trolling people old or well-educated enough to remember or know what Nazism inevitably leads to?
And why are America’s mainstream media so unwilling to even report on, much less discuss, all the Nazi and neo-Nazi references surrounding Trump and today’s captive Republicans?
