Wish Trump A 'Speedy Recovery'? No Way In Hell. Besides He Might Still Get A Polling Bump From Dumb Undecideds In A 'Sympathy Bounce'

"Say it ain't so! No more rallies cause I got Covid!"

"In theory, Trump could conceivably benefit from the news — acquiring an empathy for the Covid-vulnerable, while also displaying exemplary human toughness."  - Financial Times today

"What all this shows is the science checks out. Even if you don't believe in the virus, or don't believe in masks, or are tough enough, healthy enough.  Well turns out the scientists were right all along.  Eventually the science catches up with you and if you don't follow it you put yourself at risk of exposure and that's what happened here."  Zerlina Maxwell last night on ALL IN.

"I don’t give a damn if Donald Trump lives or dies. I don’t wish him well. I don’t send him thoughts or prayers. If COVID-19 or green men from Mars or liopleurodon take him to his despicable maker, so be it. Everyone dies. Being famous and or a billionaire and or President of the United States does not entitle you to universal goodwill."  Blogger Ted Rall, 'Trump Neither Needs Or Deserves Our Thoughts And Prayers'

The news of Captain Bonespurs getting Covid yesterday made very little impression 0ther than, "Wow! Finally poetic justice for a walking Turd who's been downplaying the virus from Day One and who probably caused 100,000 unnecessary deaths!"   And whose resistance to masks and social distancing - evident in his outrageously defiant rallies - has been responsible for creating a tribe of cretins who've attacked health workers and scientists.  So, do I feel sorry for the imp? Hell no!

What worries me more is a category of stupid, ignorant voter hereafter called "undecided" but more often euphemistically profiled as "low information".   These morons lack the information  (or incentive) to vote intelligently and more often than not are swayed by their emotions or ephemeral impressions at any given time.  Since they lack the adequate knowledge on which to base an informed choice they are much more likely to go by their guts, or their feelings.

Thus, what I fear now ( as I told Janice) as we watched scenes of Trump being airlifted to Walter Reed Hospital yesterday:  moronic, stupidly sentimental know nothings being polled and giving Dotard a "sympathy' bounce" - maybe up to 48 percent- thereby tightening the race.    Why the bounce?  I chalk it up to being entranced by a faux sentimentality egged on by excessive coverage in the mainstream media, and endlessly replayed scenes of the Marine One chopper hauling his orange ass off to Walter Reed Hospital.  All but forgetting this is the same creature who hailed the racist Proud Boys at the end of Tuesday's debate - while behaving like a savage ape throughout-  interrupting Biden and creating havoc.    As blogger Amanda Marcotte so colorfully put it:

"Biden showed up to do normal politician things, only to find himself trapped on stage with Trump, a shit-flinging monkey whose only purpose was to prevent anything resembling truth from slipping through and touching the ears of the public."

So any sympathy (or "empathy") poll bumps ought to be intolerable.   No one with an IQ over 50 ought to be giving this  POS maggot sympathy or a bump in polls by virtue of his getting Covid - not after all the stunts he's pulled.  To jog torpid memories,  for months he refused to wear a mask and mocked others - even Joe Biden at the Tuesday night debate.  The asswipe also predicted the virus would "magically disappear" when he already knew and admitted to Bob Woodward on tape it would not.   (And that he deliberately downplayed it.) During the last month alone he repeatedly stated the country was nearing the end of the pandemic and especially bellowed this  BS at his super spreader rallies.  The mutt even bragged at a Sept. 21st rally in Ohio:   "It affects virtually nobody!"   Yeah, right, asshole.  How about NOW.  Still think it affects "virtually nobody"?

Feel sorry for this Turd?   Hope he has a speedy recovery?  Dream on.

Perhaps the event most likely to have spawned Trump's infection - as well as aide Hope Hicks - was in the White House Rose Garden last week with the introduction of Amy Coney Barrett.  (As Trump's pick to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg)  Many at the event didn't wear masks - just as Trump's deplorable mutt family refused to wear them at the Cleveland Clinic venue for the presidential debate Tuesday. This even as Trump (likely already infected) spewed out his bombast in 700-odd interruptions of Biden.

The irony is that Coney Barrett has already made it clear- as Trump made clear - she was picked to help get rid of the ACA, which is to come up  in the Supreme Court Nov. 10th when oral arguments begin.  If the ACA is the victim of Trump and the Repukes' Putsch then millions will lose their health care and tens of millions will now be tagged as having pre-existing conditions, including from Covid.  And we're supposed to feel sorry for this loathsome maggot?  Before knee- jerk responding let's bear in mind the words of author Anand Giridhrandas last night on All In:

"There's all this discussion today about norms of politeness and a lot of people saying we got to wish him well even if you don't like him and a lot of others saying, 'no I don't have to wish him well'.  But what's lost in all this debate is that since the pandemic struck the world and this country he has not wished us well.

He has almost willfully made choices that would result in the deaths of people.  It has been a policy consistent from the mask wearing to the bleach advertising so on and so forth. A policy whose inevitable consequence was a manslaughter at giant scale. And so it's this very bizarre moment when it comes around to him .  And remember, you and me and Zerlina are paying some of the money we earned to take that helicopter and get the best care he can.

But he refused to pay those taxes for you and me and Zerlina to have care in case we were to need it one day.  In case 300  million other people were to need it one day. So this moment is not just a moment about one man's health. His behavior has made that an impossibility. This is a moment in which we have to ask ourselves: If someone who was so unable to care for the American people that he got ensnared  and was unable to care for himself, what chance does he have to take care of anybody for four more years."

The  most galling thing many of us are expecting?  Trump exiting Walter Reed in a few days and bragging about his "strength" and recuperative powers - not to mention downplaying the virus even more ("Just like a little flu!") -when he had the benefit of high powered, expensive treatments (remdesavir, monoclonal antibody therapy) most of us can't afford.

Others at the super spreader event last weekend may not be so lucky, including Coney Barrett's children, which is why medical specialist Dr. Peter Hotez (on ALL In) recommended they be tested.  Meanwhile, Trump's illness and that of  Hope Hicks has since set off a feverish effort to contact trace with officials looking  to track down other people who may have been exposed..  At least seven people who attended that even have since tested positive for the virus.   We now know also (see first link below) Trump was the vector for bringing Covid into the White House, not Hope Hicks - who from media coverage is much sicker than Trump.

Send wishes for a "speedy recovery"?  To hell with that!  And before any more well wishing Bozos lose total consciousness let's recall  the deranged wannabe autocrat already had targeted our election system.  This was with his incessant attacks on mail voting not to mention vowing no peaceful transition if he loses. We were headed for a fucking train wreck and may still be.

Remember that before wishing this pestilence a "speedy recovery"!
