KKK Reb Flag Carriers Get Butts Handed to Them At Their Pro-Confederate Rally

Pathetic KKK imbeciles rally around their ridiculous museum piece Reb flags yesterday. They were essentially hooted off the stage.

A mini-sea of Confederate flags held by screaming Klu Klux Klan members fluttered in front of the South Carolina Statehouse Saturday, just as a counter rally featuring African and American flags on the other side of the Capitol wrapped up.  But at the end of it all, the KKK'ers despite all their bawling, whining and crying were sent packing (according to the NBC News Report segment) after a chorus of anti-KKK protestors overwhelmed their 'White power!' chants and a couple of black kids ran off with a few Reb flags.

In one riveting scene at the end of the segment a couple of athletic black kids are seen howling with laughter as they run off with a Confederate flag and a slow poke KKK 'er gives chase,  screaming for justice and retribution.

Meanwhile, according to the news report, the KKK's  little pro-Reb flag rally didn't exactly go as they planned as these knuckle dragging imps were vastly outnumbered and had blacks screaming at them to get their act together as well as dozens of righteous whites yelling at them to "go back to where you came from". (NC).  Recall this yahoo bunch, calling itself the “Largest Klan in America,” and tagged "the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan"  are based in Pelham, N.C., according to the group’s website.. One inbred fool identifying himself as the “great titan” of the N.C. chapter of the Loyal White Knights left a message with an online site last month saying his group is holding the demonstration because “to us they are erasing white history and white culture right out of the history books. That’s why they want to take that flag down.”

Showng his IQ is about as low as the quality of his history education. (And btw, let's leave out the codswallop there was ever a "Southern Republic" - that's yet another delusion spawned in the febrile brains of these latter day Rebs and history revisionists.)

Look, as readers will have seen in earlier posts,  I have no tolerance for these white trash assholes who deign to  revise their sordid loser history in order to hold their traitorous rag flag above the correct flag designating the Union. I see them as racist bottom feeders and no amount of palsied efforts at "reconstruction", sophistry or revisionism will change my mind. But then, I had a proper American History education which didn't elevate bullshit over historical facts.

The brutal murders in Charleston ought to have rendered any admiration of the Klan anathema in any context and by any right thinking person. But evidently there are those out there who believe these "citizens" - and I use that term loosely - have a god-given right to spout their virulent racism and hate. And no, I am not coming from any superior moral position as a "Mother Therese" or a "Saint Thomas Aquinas" clone,  but as someone who possesses a brain and common sense so is simply able to distinguish hate speech when I see and hear it from genuine reasoned speech, and racists from real citizens worthy of the name. Sadly, it appears fewer and fewer are able to do that. Blame the poor teaching of history and the quality of American history texts, especially in the South, e.g.

According to the NBC segment the Klan in any case has fallen radically in membership at the same time it has increased in disrepute. In 1925 there were 5 million members, but of course the nation was still racially backward.

By 1965, however, the KKK membership had fallen to 42,000 according to the NBC spot and by 2014 to only 4,000 members "scattered through twenty odd organizations". In other words, they've been reduced to barely a donkey's sneeze in terms of impact.

The only reason people are paying attention to this errant group now is because they actually set up a dumb protest to try and reinstate the Confederate flag in Columbia, SC after the brutal church murders by KKK-loving, Rebel flag carrying Dylann Roof.  So let's cut the crap that the display of the Confederate flag isn't hate speech. As I noted in an earlier post:

"Why would the Klan - the embodiment of black lynchings and cross burnings throughout the South - want to defend it? If you can't figure that out you flunk the history IQ test! (And probably ANY IQ test!)"

Further, and by extension, it doesn't take a genius to grasp that anyone who waves this flag at a President - as those Okies did Monday night - is a racist.. To be a racist one need not actually yell out the n-word,  only wave a flag that's been used by the KKK through its history, i.e. in lynching blacks and cross burnings.. Hence the flag itself embodies racism and hate. Also any black who waves that flag is also guilty of racism and hate speech - though in this case one has to put it in the stupid or conned category. As in the case of that dumpkopf  Duncomb.

All of which shows these Ku Kluxers (who have now doffed their white robes and hoods for black caps and garb)  are not only tone deaf but out and out degenerates, as bad or worse than Dylann Roof. Anyone who defends these vermin hasn't a clue about history or the basics of human decency and what racism means.

Again, cheers to the black kids who swiped that Reb flag and had the KKK'ers squawking and chasing after them as seen on the NBC news spot.

Those kids, who will doubtless be called "black apes" by KKK sympathizers, made my day. Let's hope they also made such an impression on these Pelham, NC "loyal knights" that in future they will save their gas and think twice about stirring up trouble. And going where they don't belong!

People Need More PUBLIC Space - Apart from Work Or Commercial Venues

It shouldn't be difficult to see that there is inadequate public or civic space in the country. I am talking about indoor spaces where the young as well as elderly can chat, or even connect online without the fear of being ordered out for not buying more Mickey D burgers, or Starbucks lattes. For example, one shouldn't have to see territorial issues erupt in commercial enclaves.  Say when working stiffs on short lunch breaks visit  Starbucks, and feel miffed when all the good seating is taken up by students lingering over their notebooks or laptops- with only dregs remaining in their coffee cups.

But say one thing, say the next. At least Starbucks offers the illusion of an unhurried social space, a "coffee house culture" if you will, where one can savor his favorite style of java without being on a timer. But other places, like McDonalds, aren't so forgiving as we learned recently when a group of elderly Korean-Americans were shagged from a Mickey D's in Queens, NY.  The seniors had been gathering there for conversation and fellowship, a place they could be comfortable and seated while exchanging pleasantries. They'd sit there all day enjoying each other's company, sometimes sharing a $1.39 package of fries and maybe a diet Pepsi.

But the owners fretted the oldsters were monopolizing valuable table space, and indeed - according to reports - other patrons would demand their money back because they had no place to sit and eat their meal. (They clearly don't buy into the 'stand up while you eat 'cause it's healthier' meme).  The owners tried different strategies, such as putting a 20 minute time limit on tables, but nothing worked and eventually they called the cops to oust the elders - angering many in the Korean-American community.

But these problems don't stop there. One need only note how public libraries, eateries and other places also turn into 'second homes' (or first ones) for the homeless, economically disenfranchised or mentally disabled who also need space to be human during the long days.

But does the nation offer much of any? No! Why? Because most public spaces are either relegated to the great outdoors (where it's difficult for kids to get a Wifi connection and seniors may find it difficult to brave twenty below zero while they chat) or commercial venues like eateries or bookstores - where lingering is frowned upon unless one purchases whatever is on offer. After all, the owners will attest, they aren't providing a social club.

It shouldn't be like this. And people of whatever class or type ought not have to beg, borrow or hide in a place to have somewhere to go apart from an office (for work) or home (for retirees).  Thus, there ought to be places for people to gather socially apart from public libraries or commercial operations.

Public or 'civic space’ – occupies the mid ground between where  a state or local government  exerts control and where the rapacious private sector does. In terms of set theoretics, imagine circles for ‘government’ and ‘private sector’ respectively – with larger and larger intersections of commonality between them. Civic space or the ‘set of civic society’ lies apart from the influence of these two.

But in the case of the United States this civic space has been shrinking the past 30-40 years to the point you can barely locate it. Again, sure there are pubic parks - in many areas - but these aren't useful for the sorts of social gatherings or uses I've already identified. What we need are more large senior centers, such as exist in Columbia, Maryland, for example - where seniors could gather and play checkers, chess, or just hobnob with each other.....away from the house.  We also need convivial places for the Millennials to gather with their assorted tech devices, laptops etc. Someplace other than Starbucks and taking up space for paying customers (ok, customers that don't buy one latte and nurse it for five hours!)

What we need then are more "third places" outside the domain of government venues like libraries, or commercial ones. If we had more such venues we'd be a healthier society and also see more of our consumerist problems diminish, as people could gather without having to buy, buy, buy. Sadly, it appears no one is making a move to establish more such third places for seniors as well as the young.

I guess there's no profit in it!
