When I got my 4th Moderna booster yesterday I kind of knew there'd be some side effects, but didn't expect a left arm ache like it had been hit by a line drive from Willie Adames. Nor did I expect general chills and body aches that remained for over 24 hrs. and literally laid me low. No energy, not even much of an appetite given the nausea. But Janice assured me it was just a sign the "immunity reaction" was working. Maybe. But still not much consolation.
I was glad in retrospect that I had my 2 hour dental appointment (replacing a crown) done on the day before. Originally, Janice and I had discussed getting our Covid #4 boosters done on Tuesday - which may well have either led to a tortuous dental session or canceling the appointment entirely. Now, looking back I am 100 % certain the latter would have been the choice.
It is also somewhat gobsmacking around this same time to learn (in The Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel) that the babbling vaccine denier and former Packer QB Aaron Rodgers, wants to debate the KC Chiefs Travis Kelce on the merits of Covid vaccines. Evidently, bonehead Aaron went so far as to call Kelce "Mr. Pfizer" after seeing him on several ads for the other vaccine booster maker.
In any case, most readers would know I've not been an AR fan since he started blowing hot air about vaccines and his fake "immunity" claims from two years ago - mostly on the Joe Rogan show. Now, we have learned he's been awarded a fixed Tuesday spot on the 'Pat McAfee' show so the imp has an entire special day devoted to his bullshit. But it's been known since his first deranged brain expulsions, e.g.
He doesn't know his ass from his elbow and is merely enticing more gullible followers to go the route of his pseudo-scientific BS crap like ivermectin instead of getting the vaccines. Perhaps no one put this twit down better than Substack blogger Jaime O'Neill:
"Here's the deal on Aaron Rodgers, and why I'm no longer likely to take pleasure in seeing him make a 35- yard touchdown pass. Since he revealed what a jerk he is, refusing to get vaccinated, taking the horse medicine, and considering himself to be a "critical thinker" for choosing to believe a guy like Joe Rogan over Dr. Fauci, he's just kinda forfeited his "golden boy" shine. He played cute when he told reporters he'd been "immunized," a lie based on a whole bunch of homeopathic crap he'd taken, along with drugs available only to very rich people."
While other observers have pointed to his going off the rails with this baloney as a primary reason for choking in multiple NFC title games especially the last when the Niners beat him at Lambeau 13-10. In the words of one USAToday sports columnist after that forgettable game:
"Aaron Rodgers seemed tired and uninterested, almost as if working overtime to spread fake science and conspiracy theories was more important to him than getting the Green Bay Packers to the Super Bowl ....Rodgers is as self-centered and arrogant as star athletes come, convinced perhaps by his stint hosting “Jeopardy!” that he knows answers others can only guess. He had no compulsion during the season pretending he was vaccinated, disrespecting his teammates and putting them and everyone else at Packers headquarters at risk of catching COVID-19."
Now, we learn, not long after Rodgers got his season terminated after 4 snaps with the Jests he issued a "proclamation" he would not be censored and would yap about whatever on his favorite gasbag shows. The latest iteration being his desire to debate Kelce (and even Dr. Fauci as well) about the value of vaccinations. See e.g.

Well, one hopes if it does materialize Kelce and Fauci will stomp this fool and his nitwit would-be comrade (RFK Jr.) so badly neither will utter any more bollocks about vaccines. The fact is they are the only way - side effects or not- of keeping the vast majority of citizens safe from a virus which isn't going away anytime soon.
Don't let the prospect of side effects, even strong ones- or AR's babble - prevent you from getting the next booster.
