CPAC 2022 - Another Clown Show Marked By 'Richter Scale' Insanity - And These Fools Want To Run The Country?

Dotard relishing attention at the latest CPAC clown show

On the plus (for us) side, the latest incarnation of CPAC   (Conservative Political Action Conference)  did feature a smidgeon less obeisance. asslicking and worship of  Donald Trump.  Let's recall last year  one watched in disbelief as dozens of speakers declared their fealty to the orange pestilence even as hundreds of attendees posed for selfies with a golden statue of his likeness.

The analogy to the "golden calf" idol worshipped by the Israelites in biblical lore could not be missed. Sane Americans hoped this year's interlude might indicate more decorum, but that's about like hoping for common sense in a 'Three Stooges' comedy.  This year the deplorable fealty was less, but the insane political beliefs just as potent and frequent.

Trump himself repeated a host of hollow boasts, grievances and outright lies, the majority of which were shot down in a NY Times piece Saturday night, e.g.

At CPAC, Trump Misleads About Biden, a Russian Pipeline and Gas Prices - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

I will let readers go through them to see how off this orange maggot still is and why he needs to be kept as far as possible from the Oval office. This ought to be on the radar given his boast that he's already "won" two elections and intends to add another, i.e.:

We did it twice, and we’ll do it again.   We’re going to be doing it again a third time.

Not if I can help it! I plan to pound his ass relentlessly on this blog,  reminding potential voters - especially blacks and Hispanics starting to get "soft" about him (according to some polls)  - the extent of the threat he is.

Incredibly, this hare-brained orange loser mocked President Biden and NATO allies for punishing Russia with sanctions,  and claimed Putin was “playing Biden like a drum.” He bragged that Putin did not invade any countries during his term and said this invasion “would never have happened if our election was not rigged”.

Which is a curious ‘pot-kettle-black’ accusation given that Putin helped rig the 2016 election so Trump could cakewalk into power, even after losing the popular vote. Hell, Robert Mueller delivered the full goods in Part 1 of his report on the extent of the Trump-Russia conspiracy and how it screwed Hillary out of being the first woman president. The bombastic buffoon also bellowed:

Someday I’ll tell you exactly what we talked about, and we talked about it, he did have an affinity, there’s no question about it, for Ukraine. … I said, ‘Better not let it happen.’”

Whereupon many experts believe that in those secret confabs (like at Helsinki in 2018) Putin told the orange one: “Just remember I hold the pee tape and will release it if you don’t follow orders and continue to wreak havoc, including inciting an insurrection after you lie about the 2020 election – that they stole it from you.”

When Trump barked that America had “lost its self confidence” under Biden, one fool in the crowd began a chant of “Let’s go, Brandon” — a phrase that started after a NASCAR race using one racer's first name,  that soon became code for 'Fuck Joe Biden".  Showing again how the orange maggot has sent this nation's civility into the toilet.

To illustrate how badly these CPAC trolls are cracked – or on crack- Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host, compared Trump to Winston Churchill, if you can believe it.  Anyone who knows history, especially of World War II, knows that Churchill came to prominence in the 'Battle of Britain' when RAF fighters stood almost single-handedly against the Nazis and prevented a Hitler invasion. Indeed, knowing Churchill the resolute man and his anti-Nazi stance, one knows exactly how he would think about Donald Trump:

How Winston Churchill would actually regard Donald Trump.

He then amped that B.S. up by claiming  that conservatives would “Make America great again, again” in 2024. Transl. Likely raise taxes on the poor and middle class to give the Biden economic stimulus  gains back to the wealthy Reep donors, and aid a returned President Trump in imposing new muzzle laws on the press.

Jack Posobiec, a promoter of the “Pizzagate” false conspiracy theory e.g.

who works with the conservative youth group Turning Point USA, said that any 2024 Democratic nominee would be a “sacrificial lamb” in the year of a Trump.  Of course, this is marked insanity or I should say - would be national insanity if any Trump were to be put into the highest office again!  Can't Americans see that lying, bombast, treachery and theft are all part of the Trump "DNA"?

Trump also criticized Democrats for wanting to help Ukraine secure its borders against Russia but not supporting Republican plans to tighten security at the U.S. border.  What exactly does this asswit want? It doesn't take a Mensa member to figure it out: he wants a U.S. military occupation of Mexico to prevent migrants, e.g. from Central America, streaming to our southern border.

Meanwhile the WSJ reported (p. A4, Feb. 26-27), the theme for this year's farce was 'Awake, Not Woke' and one of the main events was 'Fighting WOKE, Inc.' - which is looney on so many fronts it literally blows the sane mind.  Starting with the fact there is no "WOKE, Inc" any more than there is a "critical race theory, Inc." or Atheist, Inc.   Hence, some kind of uniform and organized hierarchy in the culture wars.  It is a specific creation of a Rightist meme seeder, who believed it could melt fascist-authoritarian neurons and propel lizard brain reactions. The cretin was correct, but the flip side is its wide use also exposed cretins.

The Right, so bereft of working brain cells, can't even conceive of what the term 'Woke' actually means.  In fact, it is a philosophical premise or hypothesis first proposed in the 1960s  by Yale professor Charles Reich with his book The Greening of America'  - to counter widespread false consciousness. In Reich's telling (p. 392) the "unwoke" are subject to this syndrome of semi-conscious zombiehood:

"He is unable to understand his society, unable to vote in a responsible way, unable to communicate with his own children or to understand their culture. He is allowed to become human wreckage because his mind stopped growing while all the elements around him moved ahead.

Should this forlorn citizen simply be allowed to flounder and off himself with opioids or nutso conspiracy ideations? Or do real citizens have an obligation to help him out of the zombie wilderness? To hear and see the Republicans you'd think they have the right to remain unthinking, unconscious zombies to the detriment of the rest of us.

Other events scheduled for CPAC losers (ibid.) were: 'Obamacare Still Kills' which expounded on the need to get rid of the ACA once and for all, or at least get the Supremes to knock out any tax support.  And 'The Truth About January 6th' which again seeks to change the narrative about the insurrection, i.e. that it was really an exercise of legitimate speech - never mind the defecating in the Capitol halls - and done by "true patriots".

All of which now confirms the CPAC event can now be regarded as an annual, temporary insane asylum, only with the inmates running it.

Excerpt:

The world is currently and frighteningly locked in a battle to the death between democracy and authoritarianism. Yesterday, Vladimir Putin issued a new threat to the West — telling his defense minister and his top military commander to place Russia’s nuclear forces on alert.

It is a new cold war.

The biggest difference between the old cold war and the new one is that authoritarian neo-fascism is not just an external threat. A version of it has also taken over one of the major political parties in the United States.

The Trump-led Republican Party does not openly support Putin, but the GOP’s animus toward democracy is expressed in ways familiar to Putin and other autocrats.
