Former CIA Chief John Brennan - -who's already referred to Trump committing treason in the past- made no bones about how he feels with the latest Trump lapse. This was on an episode of ALL In four nights ago, in a segment dealing with the Russian cyber attack on our federal agencies which many regard as an act of war. The hack attack by the perpetrators (Brennan pegged the Russian SVR - the "equivalent to our CIA") gained back door entry into widely used SolarWinds systems. Then from there into the data of numerous federal agencies. According to The Financial Times account (FT Big Read today):
The adversaries first broke through their victims’ defences by injecting malicious code into the patches of Solar-Winds’ Orion product between March and June of this year. This meant that as some 18,000 SolarWinds clients updated their software, they unwittingly introduced a hidden backdoor for attackers to come in.
Once inside, the hackers were able to move around at will, undetected, going to great lengths to cover their tracks. ...The hackers leveraged other novel techniques to impersonate trusted users and access highly sensitive information, according to a rare advisory published by the US National Security Agency on Thursday.
One U.S. official, speaking Thursday on condition of anonymity, said the hack was severe and extremely damaging although the administration was not yet ready to publicly blame anyone for it. Why the hell not? That was Brennan's question for Chris Hayes. Well, the only logical reason is that Trump is the traitor we'd always suspected him to be - dating back to the 2016 election- then his performance with Putin in Helsinki. That was when the scum volunteered to send CIA and other officials to Moscow to be interrogated by Russian GRU agents. According to the unnamed U.S. official - clearly petrified at what went down:
“This is looking like it’s the worst hacking case in the history of America. They got into everything.”
Hmmmm....what is "everything"? Start with critical infrastructure including water systems, as well as the electrical power grid, and oh by the way, our nuclear stockpiles - manned by the DOE. If that doesn't scare the bejeezus out of everyone, well... they can't be sentient. So we can immediately dismiss all Trump's zombie cohort and gang of MAGA reprobates - the lot currently drooling to have martial law declared (and Trump installed as permanent dictator- when he ought to be hung).
Lest anyone object to this portrayal let's jog memories that Trump has already been lambasted for firing (by tweet) Chris Krebs - the top CISA cybersecurity adviser. You recall? The guy wo said flatly this past election was the most secure ever.
So in a way it's not surprising Capt. Bonespurs has made no public statements about the breach. Why antagonize your masters who also have a little 21 minute "piss video" on your antics with 2 Russian prostitutes at a Moscow hotel? (Trump watched while the women urinated on a bed the Obamas once used, and then they turned around and peed on the orange pestilence - parsing Christopher Steele's words in his dossier. The whole purpose was to desecrate the Obamas bed.) Do I believe it? Of course I do, given Trump's cockroach-like character, as well as the fact we already know he's committed previous perversions, as with Stormy Daniels, e.g.

Back to the cyber act of war that Trump allowed to happen on his watch, just like he allowed and enabled the deaths of over 300,000 U.S. citizens. While CISA officials have been mum on the extent of the damage they have described it as a "grave threat" - words which are not casually used by a cyber agency charged with our security. What is truly abominable is that the attack began as early as March, so has been ongoing for 9 months. Those were nine months during which Trump consistently lied about the COVID plague and even deemed it a hoax at one point.
As for the words "grave threat" one NY Times reporter Chris Hayes had on the same show conjectured this referred to "vital assets to the U.S." including to the economy which indicates the banking system, other financial institutions, power plants and god knows what else.
Meanwhile, Politico reported Thursday the following appeared to be priority targets for the hack: the Energy Dept. including its nuclear power plants, the National Nuclear Security Administration which maintains the U.S. nuclear stockpile -including all siloed missiles, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as well as the Sandia and Los Alamos national laboratories in New Mexico. Those are also involved in weapons development - including nuclear warheads. Tom Kellerman, cybersecurity strategy chief for the software company VMware, said the Russkie hackers are now "omniscient to the operations of the federal agencies they've infiltrated an there is viable concern they might leverage destructive attacks within those agencies."
All the mindless yahoos that yearn for Trump back in power ought to process that, and the fact this orange turd permitted a massive act of war on this nation without raising a syllable of protest. The rest of us - sane and responsible citizens- can only imagine what might have been in store for our country had Trump managed to steal unearned power, using the courts to mount an election coup.
Well, as one NYT writer put it, there'd be no country left. As it is we'll be lucky to get through this lame duck period with the nation in one piece!

Donald Trump doesn’t like his job. He’s bad at his job. He doesn’t even actually do his job. For all these reasons and more, he was just fired from his job. Unlike most people toiling in jobs they hate, he doesn’t actually need his job. But for some reason, he still wants his job back and doesn’t want anyone else to have his job, either.
Why would anyone do this? Because, of course, Donald Trump doesn’t approach the presidency like a job. He sees it as a pathway to corrupt wealth, a shield against prosecution, as a scourge to use against perceived enemies, and of course as a way to look like a winner. The actual functions and duties of the presidency are not his concern. He spends more time watching garbage cable news than focusing on matters of state, more time golfing that reading memos.
So it should come as no surprise that in the waning months of his presidency, he has spent almost no time governing. Instead, he is raising hundreds of millions dollars into a slush fund for future use; he is continuing to bully his enemies both within and outside of the Republican Party; he is fretting over the prospect of future prosecutions; and above all, he is raging for hours every day about how he isn’t really a loser, a label he fears more than the judgment of history.
