As MSNBC host Air Melber observed on 'REAL TIME' Friday night, even the first amendment and the generous protections from U.S. libel laws might not save Fox News following a filing Thursday from Dominion Voting Systems, in its defamation lawsuit against the Murdoch-owned behemoth. A behemoth whose 'star' Tucker Carlson, manages to hijack 3.5 million plus American brains every weekday night at 8 p.m. EST.
Now, with the release of a trove of in house emails, Americans who remain sentient can behold just how deranged and dedicated to spreading propaganda (especially about the 2020 election) these dirtbags are. The bastards KNEW for example, the fruitcake crackpot Sidney Powell was off her rocker about her election claims, but still had her on. Indeed, Carlson wrote on Nov. 16, 2020, to a FOX producer: "Sidney Powell is lying,” Along with a sentence laced with f-bombs. Laura Ingraham's and Sean Hannity's take ran in the same vein.
The Dominion filing makes clear that the stars and Fox executives knew there was no evidence behind the election-denial lies repeated on the network’s broadcasts — a bombshell that is likely to take Fox years to live down. As Ari Melber pointed out to Bill Maher the emails exposed show intent to misinform for which there is no free speech protection. Or at least not enough to cover their asses in a libel suit. Maher agreed while also admitting that FOX showed just how little it valued truth over ratings.
Dominion in its March 2021 complaint, noted:
“Fox, one of the most powerful media companies in the United States, gave life to a manufactured storyline about election fraud that cast a then-little-known voting machine company called Dominion as the villain,”
But a low I.Q. FOX viewer transfixed by Powell spouting nonsense about votes "being injected into voting machines" could easily buy her codswallop. This is partly why so many millions of brains were derailed in the wake of Powell's lie-athon and the January 6, 2021 insurrection erupted. Now we are still left with up to a third of the country's population with a massive, paranoid brain infection (Janice calls it an "infestation") which may never be cured.
If true, and Maher and Melber believe it might be, Dominion's arguments that Fox News defamed its work across jurisdictions in 28 states in the 2020 elections may not matter. Even after exposing the derelict, disreputable emails from the FOX star team. Still, Dominion is rightfully seeking summary judgment from a Delaware court. (The programming in question spanned the November 2020 presidential election and the tumult of January 2021, a time when Fox News found itself in an audience dogfight with another ('bottom feeder') conservo network Newsmax, and didn't want the also ran chipping away at its ratings. (Or in Maher & Melber's parlance, "nipping at its heels".)
Predictably, a FOX spokesman blabbed - again aiming at the low I.Q. demographic:
“There will be a lot of noise and confusion generated by Dominion and their opportunistic private equity owners, but the core of this case remains about freedom of the press and freedom of speech, which are fundamental rights afforded by the Constitution and protected by New York Times v. Sullivan.”
Wrong, nitwit! You get no special 'free speech' protections when you attempted to sow an insurrection by spewing known lies, from known liars and tried to paint them as truths to service a traitor scum. The degenerates at FOX - namely Carlson - actually demanded the network's sole fact checker (Heinrich) be summarily fired for a tweet exposing Powell, MyPillow man Mike Lindell et al as crackpots. In the wake of this the best outcome is to bankrupt this bunch of offal who seem to believe lies as entertainment serves some public purpose. But the only purpose it serves is lining their pockets and making their viewers dumber and more truculent.

Even as they were hyping Donald Trump's Big Lie on-air, Fox News hosts knew full well that Joe Biden, not Trump, had won the 2020 presidential election. It's what everyone already suspected, of course, but now it's an irrefutable fact thanks to legal documents filed by Dominion Voting Systems. The ballot machine company is suing Fox News for defamation, after the network repeatedly aired Trump and his allies making false claims that their tabulation machines were "flipping" votes from Trump to Biden. But even as the network aired those lies, text messages show, Fox hosts and executives were talking about how they didn't believe a word of it.
"Sidney Powell is lying," host Tucker Carlson texted to fellow host Laura Ingraham on Nov. 18, 2020. Powell was a regular Fox News guest who was a primary source of Big Lie allegations.
"Sidney is a complete nut," Ingraham texted back. "Ditto Rudy," she added, referring to Trump's attorney and Big Lie proponent Rudy Giuliani.

Several legal experts say Dominion Voting Systems' new filing against Fox News for airing blatant lies about the 2020 election despite knowing the truth poses a "serious threat" to the conservative cable news channel, CNN reports.
This comes after the voting-tech company recently blasted Fox News "for failing to provide evidence of alleged voter fraud during the 2020 election." Dominion has filed a $1.6 billion defamation suit against the network, according to CNBC.
University of Utah professor and media law scholar RonNell Andersen Jones tells CNN the firm's legal filing is “pretty voluminous," adding she has "never seen" such a "staggering brief" such as this "in a high-profile defamation case against an outlet as enormous as Fox."

Thought #1: I Want a World:
I want a world where people like Rupert Murdoch don't prosper and where selling lies is not a profession that makes people rich.
I want a world in which people are just naturally appalled by peole like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Jeanine Piro, Maria Bartiromo, and Laura Ingraham.
I want a world where everyone understands that Fox "News" is not news, is not "fair and balanced." Lying and spreading fascist propaganda has been its business model since its inception.
