YES! Marjorie Taylor Greene Is An Insurrectionist Demagogue Who Needed Sanction - And The GOP Is Now A Party Of Kooks and Traitors

"The facts are clear:  By 199 votes to 11 the Republicans  now are the party of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Trump and QAnon." -  Nicole Wallace, Deadline White House, MSNBC,  Friday

"Constituents from Georgia's most conservative corner didn't send Greene to the United States Congress to represent them, to fight for their interests or their share of the big government money, to "bring home the bacon." They sent her to Capitol Hill to die on that hill, like Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary, in order to reenact the suffering of God's chosen at the hands of His enemies. Her job is to manufacture crisis in the absence of one. "The whole point of evangelicalism is that you get to constantly be persecuted," said Chrissy Stroop, "and you enjoy moral superiority from that."

A worldview in which you're always persecuted is a worldview in which you're never responsible, because being responsible would mean you're possibly to blame, which is impossible, because the persecuted are always blameless."  - John Stoehr, 'Here's What Marjorie Taylor Greene and Her Ilk are really Afraid Of',  smirkingchimp.com

"If  there is no accountability for those like Marjorie Taylor Greene then there will be another insurrection." -   Jake Tapper, CNN,  Sunday

"After nearly 170 years, the Republican Party is dead. It died at the hands of Donald J. Trump somewhere between 2017 and 2021. It didn’t die from a single illness; there were multiple causes.

But all of them can be traced to the malevolent influence of this former, twice-impeached president. He abandoned most of the party’s principles, cowered every party leader who didn’t follow his whim, and put the sword to the party once and for all by inciting a mob riot at the US Capitol on 1/6."  - Mel Gurov, United We Fail, smirkingchimp.com

"I saw new videos of Trump supporters’ insurrection as they stormed the U.S. Capitol to undermine our Constitution. The brutality of seeing police being beaten and crushed in the door, and legislative offices trashed, almost made me physically ill. The unwillingness of many Republicans to hold those accountable for inciting this attack on our Democracy is unconscionable.

It seems that we have two Americas and sadly I see no common ground. This does not bode well for our future."  - Gene Reetz, Denver Post letter, Feb. 5th, p. 8A

With the second Senate impeachment trial of Trump set to begin tomorrow, it is well to reference just how far up Dotard's keyster  the 45 enabling Senate GOP imps are. One reason they may well acquit him again, compounding their execrable travesty from the first trial. At the core of this resistance to any moral compass - even despite the videos of the insurrection they are likely to see- is another, lesser demagogue: Marjorie Taylor Greene.  This vicious virago completes the twisted sedition- fake grievance, pseudo patriot circuit injected into the nation's fabric by Trump.  The  toxic pair, together with their base of deluded deplorables, lie at the root of this nation's unfolding civic disaster.

Let's start with Greene, and why her removal from two House committees was totally justified.  Especially given the Repuke House caucus wasn't prepared to do it.

The insane rationalizations employed in the defense of Greene (and the Repuke party) in the Friday WSJ Op-ed pages were beyond belief.  Indeed, one has to now reckon that the Journal's op-ed section has itself become contaminated with QAnonism, pro-insurrection sedition and the same vile garbage Greene and Trump have peddled for years to appease their white nationalist base. In the editorial itself ('Liz Cheney and Marjorie Taylor Greene', p. A16) we read:

"Everyone agrees Ms. Greene's past social media posts were nutty."

Errr,... no.   "Nutty" is when the person claims space aliens put special transmitters in her wisdom teeth to try to control her. No, Greene's communications weren't nutty, they were vile, vicious and murderous.  Including sporting 2' by 3'  campaign posters with her posing with an assault rifle next to the "Squad", e.g.

In her FB post accompanying the image posting (since taken down) this vile virago called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib "hate America leftists [who] want to take this country down." Adding: "We need strong conservative Christians to goon the offense against these socialists who want to rip our country apart"

Missing the point that genuine Christians don't spread lies and intimidate using assault rifles.  The WSJ editorial nabobs go on to offer more twaddle:  "It's a troubling precedent for the House majority to overrule the committee assignments of the minority, based on a politicians' words before taking office."

Clueless to the fact Greene's pro-QAnon words weren't just "before taking office."   Only recently on a FOX News segment,  this seditionist and would-be assassin proclaimed:  "Q is a patriot"  and "I haven't seen anything that is unpatriotic" (e.g. about him),  issuing from the QAnon enclaves. Which I suppose means anything goes,  including that the Dems sacrifice babies to Satan.    Then there was the Colorado Springs Gazette (Feb. 6, p. A11) noting how Greene "showed no signs of repentance on Friday"  and even proclaimed: "I woke up early this morning literally laughing about what a bunch of morons the Democrats are for giving someone like me free time",  i.e. to lie about having finally found the truth concerning 9/11, Parkland and Sandy Hook.  In other words, her words were merely hollow mouthings.

Alas,  harpy morons like the WSJ's  Kim Strassel ('The GOP's First 2021 Victory',  p. A15,  Feb. 6) didn't seem to get the memo, instead blathering:  "Mrs. Greene finally disavowed inflammatory comments she'd made and conspiracy theories she'd perpetuated on social media."  Hmmm....sounds like you're still on the wine and MJ high there, Kim!  Or else you're too damned dense to see through Greene's PR act.

As for the WSJ editorial proper,  the most patently ridiculous claim was: "House Republicans failed to oblige the Democratic desire for GOP civil war.

But talk of there being such a war, or the Dems wanting one, implies there are two more or less equal sides to fight it. In fact there are not.  There are the majority Trumpists with Greene the point pawn on one side, and a minority of  "establishment" Reeps (like Ben Sasse) on the other.   Civil war?  Hell, there was no "war" but a surrender from the get -go.  Trump and his Trumpist pro-sedition traitors won.  They succeeded in gutting and taking over a major political party - turning it into a collection of yes-men, willing enablers and pawns to do Trump's bidding.

Don't believe it?  A whopping 81% of Republicans still favor Trump and 64% in one poll will bail on the GOP if the maggot starts a new party. Meanwhile, a poll out on Thursday showed Greene with a net favorable 10 % rating among Republican voters.  As for Liz Cheney, it was minus 28%.   So she's basically a pariah within her own party, despite the vote of 145-61 to retain her. And that was also a mirage, given the vote was taken in an anonymous tabulation, so no Gooper had to go  on record.  So the Repukes clearly are no longer the party of Lincoln, but a cult based on defiance, sedition and grievance.   Contrary to Kim Strassel's delusions the GOP is now truly "the embodiment of violence and nutballs".

Indeed, the Dems are fully justified in using the insurrection of January 6th to launch a second impeachment of the instigator - Donald Trump.   Also to indict his entire cult of enablers, traitors and insurrectionists.  The latter,  vile beasts who've also (we've just learned),  left piles of human feces all around the Capitol they invaded.   This is what beasts do, not citizens, which is why I will never ever treat such riff raff as "fellow citizens"  - but rather domestic terrorists.

As for the GOP, there is no governing philosophy any more. No more arguments for small government, or supply side economics -  only owning the libs and fighting "cancel culture".  Oh, and overturning government by the people, for the people -  using violence as  Greene and Bimbo Boebert advocate.   This is why treasonous creatures like Marjorie Taylor Greene actually don't care if they get kicked off committees.

As for the WSJ's editorial bitching about holding Greene accountable "for statements made five, ten years ago".  How about two plus years ago.  As Michelle Goldberg has also pointed out:

"Marjorie Taylor Greene was more than a dabbler in QAnon was her 2018 endorsement of “Frazzledrip,” one of the most grotesque tendrils of the movement’s mythology. You “have to go down a number of rabbit holes to get that far,” said Mike Rothschild, whose book about QAnon, “The Storm Is Upon Us,” comes out later this year.  The lurid fantasy of Frazzledrip refers to an imaginary video said to show Hillary Clinton and her former aide, Huma Abedin, assaulting and disfiguring a young girl, and drinking her blood. It holds that several cops saw the video, and Clinton had them killed."

For those words alone, along with her assassination fever dreams, this scurrilous skank ought to be locked up in a psych ward at Bellevue and given ECT five times a day-   with a lithium drip.  At least then we won't have to worry about this professional troll spreading more lies and violent rhetoric (admitting the day after the vote she "has a lot more free time to talk to people", i.e. spread lies, QAnon conspiracy horse shit.)

Again, the chamber votes on Thursday merely confirmed the once proud GOP - the oldest conservative party in the West-  had been swept down the sewer of sedition and treason by the likes of Greene, House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy- and the 197 other rabble that voted not to strip Greene of her committee assignments.

The GOP, to that extent, is no longer a formal political party but a twisted personality cult - not worth an ounce of doggie lickspittle.  Certainly not an equivalent entity with which to make a bipartisan or any other deals.  I mean, would  proper party make deals with roaches? With rats?

For the true embodiment of a sniveling Trump enabler and  GOP traitor  look no further than Lindsey Graham.  Even before that ignominious House vote, we knew the GOP had opted for the gutter, including from the blustering rat Lindsey Graham,

Sreaming sewer rat Lindsey Graham vowing to mount a racist attack on Kamala Harris.

Who vowed :

"If Democrats call even a single witness to discuss events on Jan. 6,  they will regret it."

Promising to use the Senate trial to attack and besmirch Kamala Harris.  As noted on Daily Kos:

Graham vowed to link VP Harris to stoking violence in the Black Lives Matter protests.

If there is one upside to the sordid Greene affair and the unraveling of the GOP it's that some citizens have had second thoughts about their alliances and website.   Thus, Jody Williams, owner of the web address for TheDonaldwin, pulled the plug after a number of incidents.

TheDonaldwin, a furiously pro-Trump forum, became an online staging ground for the Capitol assault.  Thanks to Williams it's now a cautionary tale about the Internet’s dark side. What began on Reddit as an online political rally for an upstart presidential candidate turned increasingly foul as Williams fought — and often lost — against what he said were “nefarious forces” determined to advance the most extreme ideologies, including white supremacy.

Williams knew things had gotten out of hand early last month, when a post on the pro-Trump message board  included a detailed diagram of how to tie a “hangman’s knot” on a noose

Williams as moderator for the board and owner of its Web address, sought out his moral compass and removed the noose instructions. But within an hour, he said, another moderator quietly restored it near the top of the site. Three days later, on Jan. 6, a real noose was hung on makeshift gallows on the National Mall, amid the violent siege on the U.S. Capitol.

The battle over the noose diagram was just one of many over a site so infested with racist, anti-Semitic and violent content galore that Williams, 41, an Army veteran who lost a leg had finally had his fill of.   It remains to be seen how many more citizens will step up to the battle lines and fight to preserve (and restore) the "soul" of this nation against the right wing fascists who would rip it asunder.

Excerpt:

With their cowardly refusal to discipline Marjorie Taylor Greene, the retreat from integrity of the House Republicans is now complete. Only under the threat of sanctions against Greene by House Democrats did Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) even pretend to address the Georgia representative's many offenses against decency, comity, and sanity. And when the Republican caucus met behind closed doors, McCarthy's weak leadership allowed Greene to take over the meeting, which reportedly concluded in applause for her.

What were the Republicans applauding? The gun-toting Greene has not apologized for any of her endorsements of violence, including those spittle-flecked threats to assassinate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She hasn't withdrawn any of her racist slurs against Blacks and Muslims, or her gutter excursions into anti-Semitic fantasy. Only under duress has Greene admitted the reality of the 9/11 attack and the school shootings upon which she had cast paranoid doubt, after inflicting renewed grief on the families of the dead. She didn't apologize to them, either.
