What About 'Let The Trump Revisionism Begin'? There Is No Such Thing As Media "Revisionism" Where Trump Is Concerned

Back to Holman Jenkins' WSJ piece ('Let The Trump Revisionism Begin', Nov. 7-8, p. A13) .  Having expended his best efforts to tarnish mail ballots - trying to portray them as likely "illegal" votes (a la Trump) - Holman goes on to rail against the media and particular contributors (David Brooks, Mary Trump) for failing to give his orange master a fair shake.  E.g.

"The press convinced itself the president was a Russians asset, a white supremacist, a grifter who botched the nation's coronavirus response. "

Cheeze, Louise! What planet has little Holman been living on?  Of course the press has been spot on right about all of that.   Take the Russian asset.  Trump on July 26, 2016 openly  revealed himself to be such when he implored the Russians to hack Hillary's emails. In other words, openly pandering for the commission of the crime that occurred one day later.  In front of millions, the Orange Turd had baldly blurted:

"I will tell you this, Russia if you're listening, I hope that you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. You will probably be rewarded mightily by our press. Let's see if that happens."

So Trump, in full public view, asked Russia to hack his political opponent.  Did this just come out of the blue as a brain fart blurt? Not at all, given we know Russia had been funding Trump since the late 1980s. As per The New Republic (Aug./Sept. 2017, . p. 29):

"A review of the public record reveals a clear and disturbing pattern: Trump owes much of his business success, and by extension his presidency, to a flow of highly suspicious money from Russia. Over the past three decades, at least 13 people with known or alleged links to Russian mobsters or oligarchs have owned, lived in, or even run criminal activities out of Trump Tower and other Trump properties. Many used his apartments and casinos to launder untold millions in dirty money .....Taken together, the flow of money from Russia provided Trump with a crucial infusion of financing that helped rescue his empire from ruin, burnish his image, and launch his career in television and politics....It's entirely possible that Trump was never more than a convenient patsy for Russian oligarchs and mobsters."

So uh, yeah. Trump is a Russkie asset,  a major reason he's purging the NSA and Pentagon with conspiracy wackos - including one (Kash Patel) who worked with Devin Nunes to try to torpedo the Mueller report. And another (Anthony Tata) who tried to spin the BS Obama was a "terrorist leader".   He's putting loyalists in as poison "seeds" - as former Obama security analyst Ben Rhodes noted last night-   to try to declassify  sensitive files.  Trump believes release of these files will further "prove" Mueller's investigation was a witch hunt.  Trouble is, such release would expose methods of intel agencies, especially overseas.  See e.g.

A furious behind-the-scenes battle to counter Trump’s threat to national security

What we're seeing is how a traitor rat behaves when he's cornered, and in the next 70 days it won't get any better.  Rats always fight to their last breath when cornered, and traitor human rats - wannabe dictators - are no exception.  That's why most are hung after being overthrown.

As for being a white supremacist, again - Trump hung himself out to dry.  Recall when the thousands of white nationalists crawled out of their rotten woodwork to march with Tiki torches in Charlottesville, in August, 2017, e.g.

The vile scene evocative of the Nazi torch marches outside of Nuremberg in 1938, as seen in the period photo below.

The Nazis in Charlottesville screamed "Jews will not replace us!" as they marched, then turned their sights on a group of old and infirm peaceful protesters. They singled them for attack (with bats and truncheons)   a half dozen or so  huddled on church steps, singing a hymn near Emancipation Park.  But a group of counter protesters  from Antifa stepped in to save them.  Alas, protester Heather Hyer wasn't so fortunate as she was run over by a Nazi a day later.    What did Trump have to say when pressed: 'There were some very fine people on both sides."

A fluke? Fuck no, only a certified imbecile would believe so.  Especially after the first debate with Joe Biden, when Trump refused on stage in Cleveland to denounce white supremacists and even summoned the Proud Boys to action, i.e. "Stand back, and stand by!"   One only gets so many chances to prove he's not what every signal he gives says he is - and Trump blew them all. Every chance.

As for botching the response to the pandemic, we damned well know he did, from the inside admissions in Bob Woodward's book RAGE (that he knew the virus was more deadly than the seasonal flu but chose to downplay it) to Laurie Garret's blistering takedown of the imp. See:

The only revisionism then is Holman's own hagiography, given in his eyes Trump was simply a consummate showman and somewhat  pugnacious personality  who lived outside the "norms". Hence did not deserve the media's negative myth making - including "giving narcissism a workout" and using "dog whistle to interpret his every word."

Lest we (or Holman) forgets, this is the president who mocked a disabled reporter, who habitually called women “nasty,” who insisted the phone call that got him impeached was “perfect.” This is the loser who wanted to buy Greenland.  And the fool who spawned "Sharpie gate" when he used a sharpie to change the course of  forecast hurricane-  as an appalled media watched in horror and disbelief..

From “Lock her up” to “Obamagate,” and from, “Russia, if you’re listening ...” to “the Biden crime family,” he has been happy to shatter norms as he stirred up baseless allegations of wrongdoing.   All the while fracturing the country with every perverse and deliberate psychopathic action.

And from his “beautiful wall,” to “Liberate Michigan!” to defunding anarchist “Democrat-run cities,” he has always sought to amplify conflict and sow division. Those arriving at the border fleeing persecution and seeking asylum were “drug dealers, criminals, and rapists.” Protesters for racial justice were committing “treason.” Black and brown members of Congress should “go back” to the “broken and crime-infested places from which they came.”   True, he didn’t create the angry atmosphere in the American public, but he certainly hardened it into a toxic pall that infests and infects nearly all of us: those who loathe him (and want him to vanish permanently) and those for whom he is a demigod, who voted for this pestilence and who are described by one blogger thusly

"All those people who cast votes this week for Donald Trump can read. They can count. They can add. They know how many of their fellow Americans have died. But just like Derek Chauvin was just another cop on the beat before he knelt on George Floyd's neck and killed him, every Trump voter was just another citizen before they marked their ballots and put their knees on the neck of our country and endorsed the deaths of hundreds of thousands of their fellow citizens and the man who killed them. Make no mistake. A vote for Trump was a vote to kill at least another 100,000 Americans."

As Bryan Garsten wrote in a recent NY Times editorial

"The language Mr. Trump uses, his willingness to insult, his refusal to follow the standard conventions of polite society or decency — his crudeness — is not a superficial sideshow. It is his defining trait, both a rebuke of Madison’s experiment and a giveaway that he is a demagogue.

Look for the common thread in his otherwise unconnected actions: Associating ordinary immigrants with rapists and murderers was not necessary to demonstrate a commitment to lowering crime or saving American jobs; it was a way of showing he would say what others would not."
